The US Army is investigating the activities of two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters that appeared to engage in low-altitude maneuvers at the Nashville home of Kid Rock over the weekend.
The helicopters also flew over a “No Kings” march in downtown Nashville, but at one point found themselves right outside Kid Rock’s “Southern White House,” a suburban Nashville home he had built in the likeness of the actual White House.
Kid Rock shared video of himself saluting the helicopters on Instagram, with the caption, “This is a level of respect that shit for brains Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”
The video appears to show the helicopters pausing in mid air for Kid Rock’s appreciation, before taking off and resuming their flights, which has led to a formal investigation by the US Army’s Fort Campbell and 101st Airborne Division.
“Fort Campbell leadership is aware of a video circulating on social media depicting AH-64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence associated with Mr. Robert Ritchie (also known as ‘Kid Rock’),” said Maj. Jonathon Bless, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division, in a statement to Nashville’s WTVF television station. “The command has initiated an investigation to review the circumstances surrounding this activity.”
The statement continued, “The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell maintain strict standards for aviation safety, professionalism, and adherence to established flight regulations. We take all concerns regarding aircraft operations and their impact on the surrounding community seriously.”
Maj. Bless later told WTVF, “Our pilots do regularly fly routes outside the Fort Campbell area. We just don’t know if it was incidental or if it was deliberate.”
Meanwhile, Kid Rock is set to kick off his “Freedom 250 Tour” on May 1st, with tickets available here. The rocker faced some criticism for charging $5,000 each for front-row tickets, and lashed out at the “fake liberal media” for reporting on the his ticket prices.
