While I believe your view here is more typical than my own, I gotta tell you, if I were to compile a list of my favorite top 50 or even top 100, I don’t think a Beatles song would be on it. To me, their music wasn’t inspired. John and Paul got together to write songs because that was their job. They did their job. But not one of them is on my list of favorites. The Beatles achieved such huge media popularity that their albums sold automatically. But sales may not indicate great music. My wife thinks I’m crazy.

One song missing from all these top songs list is Fatboy Slim – “Praise You”. Without question one of the greatest songs ever recorded. Maybe the younger generation will nominate it more often.
